Chesapeake Bay, about 75 boating destinations, downfall is we only have 5 months to use them

No manatee zones in the Emerald Coast, just the ocasional hurricane. Lacke Cumberland is pretty good also.

If you want "hot rods" then the west coast lake scene is the place for you, smaller custom hot rodded boats/engines abound in that area. If you want "offshore" boating then most metropolitan coastal areas and the great lakes are your best bets. All these areas have their advantages/disadvantages, any local person will help you out with those.

ono island, it is just about on the flordia alabama border......it is a great boating area and very close to a gulf outlet......we vacation there every year....it is a private island.
