What is the general opinion of using FRONT discharge or DELTA, 14-71's, under driven, w/out intercoolers, vs. over driven, OPEN discharge w/intercoolers, for Dueclaws application ?......Same cam and new, .230/.190, flowed heads.

Is this the High-Helix style blower?

JE,

The front discharge or delta is available in both Hi and Low helix. I'm more inclined to favor the low helix BILLET,front discharge or delta, either one. Billet might hold the rotors straighter, therefore, teflon strip life may be extended and produce less heat.

A magnesium case may dissipate more heat than aluminum.
However, magnesium may be hard to polish. Another point to explore, will the magnesium case, low helix, billet rotor, front discharge run cooler allowing adequate boost w/o an inter-cooler?

The under driven ratio will require less torque/horsepower and logically, produce less heat. There will still be boost present at idle, producing more idle torque than naturally asperated. There should be less blower surge and tuning might be simpler. The by pass valve doesn't seem necessary when the ratio is under driven. Also, because load is reduced, there should be less belt slap. Incidently, the belt length may change, even w/o an inter-cooler.

The Blower Shop is said to have a customer proprietary inter-cooler core. The design includes WIDER fin and tube spacing. You may want to check that out. Holler at me if you need the name of that customer.

Thanks for the info, I'll get with you: I may have the info for the Blower Shop core and will discuss with you.

Polishing the blowers is not that important to me and I prefer hard-anodized. How does the Magnesium alloy used in blowers react with salt?

JE,

I don't know how magnesium reacts to salt. However, we are told, either epoxy paint or hard - anodize will work fine. Aesthetics of hard - anodize magnesium appeals to me.
