The tent was a good 10 ft wide and about 15 ft high. I also put a 10x10 door in the back of the boat and a smaller door on the side so you could get in and out... You were able to open the hatch inside the tent.... It was Fort Outerlimits...
Thats got me think'n for next year! who doesn't enjoy a nice fort?

Dang, that thing really fills up your driveway. I hate to admit it but I have a silver type tarp that goes over my full mooring cover ( mine was more than $25, More like $140 or $150). It actualy covers the entire trailer all the way to the ground. I did the same thing last winter and it worked great and saved my canvas cover. The way that I have it chafing isn't possible and between the vents I have created and the 6 containers of no damp moisture isn't an issue.

In my defense, I have a contract on a property that is nearly 5 acres and I have already met with the powers that Be and they have agreed to allow me to construct either a 30X50' or 30X60' Pole Barn. So next season I will have a truely fitting Fort for the boat. We are scheduled to close in Feb. I can't wait.

I see your point with respect to the original thread, but if done correctly a tarp can actually work pretty well if that is your only option. I am not knocking the shrink wrap, but I am a cronic boat washer and at least two times between Dec. and Early March I like to wash the boat and the shrink wrap would make it tough to get above the rub rail.

Two weeks ago at night we were having a bad rain storm and I was out doing the winter maintenance inside Fort Apache.. I had the radio blasting with the cockpit and engine room lights on so I could see what I was doing...

Meanwhile, we had a power outtage and my wife was inside with a million candles all over the house but Fort Apache was still rockin tough!! Good think I hadn't taken the batteries out yet!
