I wouldn't use the word hate. There is already enough of that in the world today...

Tnothin,
Look to the P1 Powerboat Championship for some great competition this year!

It will be quite interesting especially when they put the spy "bugs" in every boat. That should keep everyone honest!

I agree with Tim,

Let'smpick a random from each manufacturer and see what is waht. Power to weight vs, avg. 1 year maintenance cost, plus overall speed, bring t on!!!!

Who cares which is faster on flat water with perfect conditions? I want to know which is faster (and lasts longer) in the snot! Run 'em offshore, in 5 footers for a 100 miles and let's see who comes in first!

Just look at how many older Fountains are still racing and winning offshore races.

I was at shogren marine last weekend and looked over the hull thad went 177 mph. It is an awesome boat but why did the bottom of the boat look like alot of glass work was done?

Being as you brought it up, I found the same thing on the Miccosukkee boat.

It obviously means the race boats need to be tweaked after coming out of the tooling. Razor sharp edges on the strakes perform better then those with a radius. Radius strakes are usually found on their production boats because they are easier to lay up with the glass.

A sharp edge allows the water to break away quickly from the boat whereas with the radius, the water will want to roll around the corner of it and basiclly stick to the boat.

Perhaps the boat you were looking at was the boat in Key West that the bottom delaminated during testing ? That would explain why there was alot of glass work done.

Stock factory 1075's. I can tell you too, I can run that boat with people and gear, 120 mph, without trouble, and very stable. I bought the boat because I loved the cabin, cockpit, looks, size, etc. Have to tell you from personal experience, it is fast. Hit the throttles at 80, and it literally sets you back, pretty cool. Even at 100 mph, it gets on the last step, it takes off. Cool experience. May not hold the kilo record, but has awesome drivable speed. My 2 cents.
AWESOME Boat!!!
