Default JL vs. BABB'S(DC GOLD)

Any stereo guru's with experience with JL speakers vs. Babb
(DC GOLD) speakers? I had BABB's in my 26' Hustler and looking to upgrade in the Slingshot. Looking more for volume than concert quality. I ran the Babb's full range looking for same sound in the Slingshot. Never had or heard JL's any input greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve

JL Marine is in my opinion the best that you can get. The 7.7 seperates rock.

I had Babbs in my boat and changed them out to JL and love them. More tunability then a full range speaker. Their W7 subs kick butt too.

Running Babbs 5 1/4 and 6x9's with 2) JL 10" subs. Have considered replacing the Babbs with JL components, but damn those Babbs can take a beating and sound awesome.

Yup you can not seem to blow the Babbs. They will put out a lot more DB's for the same power amplifier then a JL. You are in Ohio so salt water longevity is not so important. Tweeters in general don't seem to last all that well in the salt... JL's will tend to sound better if quality is more of a concern. I find that most people on boats want them to play loud.

Jon, I've always been a fan of Memphis. What's the 411 on their marine line? I had the auto versions in my Formula and I thought they were awesome. Contemplating an audio upgrade as we speak.

I'd be curious to know too....planning on having a Memphis Belle Marine 5 channel amp installed in a couple weeks.
