In my racing career, I never made an error in trim.....but the wind and water did occasionally make mistakes............
That is one of the best quotes ever, may I use it?

Be my guest......

Half of the quotes I hear on TV races today are identical to what I said on video from 1981 to 2001..........

Coincidence is the sincerest form of larceny........

And you can use that too......

It is time to sign up and register for this event. No more talking time for action. As it stands right now I will be the second boat behind Miss Geico in my own boat!

If the California guys can put together20 boats for the Rum Run Catalina Race we should certainly be able to get at least that many.

Cowboy up and Go!

Brownie has done an excellent job of arranging the facilities for the old racers gathering on Friday night. Thank you sir.

The old racers are invited to attend the Saturday evening festivities also, so everyone who wants to, can get a chance to meet them.

Who are these guys anyway and why should any of you care?

Here is Mel Riggs and the boat that he and Odell Lewis ran in the Bahamas races that lasted up to 12 hours to finish.

The bottom shot is of a Formula race boat....the deck might look familiar, as Magnum used the same deck on the boat that Billy Martin used to run as Hustler. The racers and the companies were much friendlier in the old days and helped each other out to get boats ready to race.

Are you going to take your place as a racer of open water alongside these guys, or are you going to keep on talking about how great those days were and never step up to the plate yourself....this may be the only chance you ever get....let's hear from you...soon.

Entry form and rules can be downloaded here.... www.historicraceboats.com

Your funny! Me stay at home, never. As soon as I see a registration I might yawn as I look it over!

You coming to Daytona in a couple of weeks?

Maybe I'll just move back to Calif and run with the west coast boys.

Here is the lead boat for the last Rum Run...
