No idea...Maybe sunk boats or just shallow water,oyster reefs. I just stay away from them. Now i do know that just south of April fool point there is an old barge that is under water that is marked with a bunch of those poles.

It seems like more and more poles are popping up each year
It would be nice to see the core come thru and clean some of that stuff out or atleast correctly mark it.

I was told they mark oyster beds and that as long as you don't hit the marker you will be okay.
