i have a 07 eliminater 28 daytona with 525's with gibson mufflers. im in wisconsin and they are being really hard on performance boaters. the db rating is 86dbs. i have read that the gibsons are rated at 88dbs. im sure i will get stopped soon. does any one have any idea how to drop a couple dbs? thanks for your help

Been there done that. The Gibsons will not get you to 85db at idle. The CMI sound elimination is the best of the seven sets of mufflers I have owned. They should get you close to 86 db at idle. They will leave you alone. However after 3000 rpm they are full open automatically. If you see the noise police just pull back on the throttle and they close back up under 3000 rpm. Very cool. The downturns will get you to 83 db at idle with the exhaust under water. My 1400's are 83 db at idle. But once you plane off they are really loud. CMI has those as well. Call Ateco the closet distributor for you located jsut over the border in Illinois. CMI will charge you list if you buy direct. Ateco will give you a better price. 847-623-2737

Just rig up a bunch of PVC, it looks great, and keeps your boat under the radar.
