Anheuser-Inbev Merger

Any one got pics of Auggie Busch and Jeff Soffer in the Bud Dry Skater with the zoomie headers?

Did the buyout go through? Wasn't it around 700 BILLION?That is a disgrace. An American business, ie. Budweiser to be owned by a European company, WTF. That would give Inbev more that 25% of the total beer market the world.

I was a life long Budweiser guy. Thank goodness I am sober now (not due to this merger, LOL).

The officers approved it, has to be approved by the stock holders, EU anti-trust board, US anti-trust board before anything final can take place. With the Euro at double what it was a couple years ago, (or dollar at half depending on point of view), will keep happening.:( Wonder what will happen to all of the Busch/Bud etc. race teams in US if finalized?

Kind of the "IB" of the beverage world, eh? The gobbling up and consolidation of brands continues.
Remember when somebody bought Lowenbrau, which was a decent lower price lager... and then it reappeared a year later as a micro brew at 7.50 a six pack? Maybe Bud will go away and return as a "craft beer" at 8 bucks a six.

$70 a share - 52.xB purchase price....

I don't drink any beer but it is a shame to see such an icon of Americana sold partly due to the drop in the dollar value. Will be interesting to see if they keep Bush Gardens open in Williamsburg....

I love beer, especially bud light, are there any american non micro brewery beers left?

I agree! My initial buyout estimate was way off, but the fact that another manufacturing company, an icon of Americana, is owned by foreigners does not bode well with me.

My friends used to joke, "there are three kings in this world.'
1. The Lord God - king of the world
2. Richard Petty - King of Nascar, and finally
3. Budweiser - the King of Beers - at this point we would toast. This "toasting" would go on for at least 12-pack per person, me included.

Budweiser will never be the same.
