Glad to hear they're all safe but it's beyond me why the owner let these guys take it out.

Wow! I couldn't imagine taking on that responsibility. I've worked on a few high dollar boats and it makes me nervous just firing them up. "You brake it you bought it" can hurt with $90k motors under the hatch. It's bad enough when someone puts a nick in the paint on those things never mind tearing a sponson off. I guess if you or your insurance can afford to pay for and you don't mind the mark on you reputation then go for it!

Glad no one was hurt. Do you think the mechanic still has a job?

Good question.

He may be the only person in Norway that know these engines, so he is needed........

Besides the Jotun Class 1 team, this boat had the only set of Merc 1075's in Norway.

Good classic offshore racing. Like it once was done.
Race from Norway to Denmark and back, 126 miles.

20 boats startet, only 3 finished.

Nobody tok the 20 year old record, mostly due to big waves. Reported to be over 8 feet.
So the ride got wild........

At the end of the video is that a tree or shallow marker sticking up?
