Boat and car trannys are not really a perfect comparison.... but....
It happens to guys who run cars "hard."
It happens to guys who don't do J turns and neutral drops.

96 mph did it once for a few seconds might have had more but it scared the carp out of me. Even though I have hydrulic steering it chined viciously. I have come to the conclusion that a hull designed for 60mph should do be driven at 90 plus. BTW P5X 31p Hydro prop. Just purchased a 31' Awesome Cat w/#5's

Air Time, is that an H2x? That boat likes power. I built the drive for the H2x that went 109mph at LOTTO. He only had 1170hp at that time. Later went to 1400hp, but didnt have much time on it, when he had to sell it. I was told it was in the teens at one point.. Wicked fast little boat!

2002 Nordic 28' Heat with 496 MagHO.
Lower gears went away at about 200 hours.
Replaced by Max Machine Werks, kept the original uppers which were in fine shape.

100 hours since that (300 hours total)...and no issues since.

Combined total of a whopping 20 hrs on IMCO Extreme SC's (XR's) behind 720 hp blower engines. First one blew around 10 hrs.
