Wellcraft Cougar Cat - Pics wanted!
Search since years for more pictures and informations about the Wellcraft Cougar Cat 30' produced around 1981.
I own one since 4 months and started to restore it. All the wood in the stringers and the transom is rotten. I think many of you know such minor problems... One year later and you had to sweep it away, but I love this boat and want to do a perfect restoration - it shouldn't become a trailer queen.
So: I need all informations I can get, please search your archives and post here what you find!
Do some other Wellcraft Cougar's exist?
Thanks, Gerhard

Thats a funny wellcraft . It's a cougar. Lots of luck there. That is definatly the cougar logo on the side in the mag article. It does have the wellcraft W on the side. That definatly is a wellcraft below the cougar on the page.Weird

That is not a magazine article - it is an original Wellcraft sales brocheure. He has had it for quite a while.

It's a Cougar Cat 900, for a few years in the 80's they were also made under licence by Wellcraft. My first job when I joined Cougar in 1978 was sanding the hull plug, in the arcives I should have plenty of pictures, these narrow tunnel cats were built for pleasure and military, we even built a self-righting version as a safety boat.

GM-Powerboats
Hy, Cameron
Sorry for this, I had very much work last year. Founded my own company in Austria for offshore boats, engines, trailers and all around it: GM-POWERBOATS. Small, but let's see what I can do for the offshore boaters in Europe.
The other problem why your Scarab S-Type isn't still finished is that I HAD TO BUY the rare Wellcraft Cougar Cat too... (you know I love this one since years). But now we are working on both boats. Believe it!
More photos / informations soon!

Does no-one else have something for me about the Wellcraft Cougar Cat???
