I recently purchased an older Checkmate. The seat upholstry and carpet is new (white/blue respectively), but the interior side panels have this old nasty vinyl sheet that is peeling. It also has wood trim around the side panel cut-outs that I want to update with vinyl molding.
I don't think I want to go with carpet up the sides (too bulky?), unless someone could show me how it would look good.
So what kind of material do your side panels have or what do you suggest?
Thanks

As far as vinyl go's you have many options. there are marine vinyls as low as 7.50 a yard. flat, textures, colors. carpet is not a good idea it will hold water and start to mold. and for replacing the wood there are many plastics to use also. pvc's, king star board, king star light all of witch are great for your boat. Making new coaming pads are the way to go for sure. 3/8 plastic 1/2 to 1" foam and foam back vinyls and i know just the place to take them to !!
