[QUOTE=glassdave;2752412]one of the funnest races i ever did was the Miami-Bimini run earlier this year. Pretty cool when you loose sight of land and your on compass at that point.

Ditto Dave,

We had a blast that day, and we will never forget it.

Even though I live in Atlanta, we do most of our boating Offshore in the gulf, Sanibel/Ft Myers area or Ft Lauderdale.
After boating on the Ocean, lakes Suck! Only think good about them is No Major Clean up.

I run the middle of our lake (Erie) all the time. Hell when i was a kid i did it in a 16 foot wooden Lyman islander. Its only foolish if you are ill prepared or in experianced. I love being on my boat for 3 or 4 days at a time.

My favorite cruise of all time was to take my Ocean right up the center of Lake Huron into the North Channel. No one around and incredibly peaceful. Nothing but a black cloud of Diesel Soot on the lake behind the boat.

Does 200 miles from home port count? more than 30 miles off the shore, crossing Country borders, multiple Great lakes, gone for a week, 8 foot waves, GPS life line in the fog?

Might not have the salinity, But I can pretend it's OffShore.
