Ok.. my .02..
I have a 283 Check, used to run a 251. I dont have enough seat time in the new one to sell you on it.. I do know that my buddy has one a few years older.. his runs 88 mph at Ozarks on a hot day and has a large motor in it.. Another friend has a true 30' Check with two motors. I runs high 80's low 90's with tons of wife type gear on it..
The older 30' Checks are a heck of a boat and do go cheap.. If you want a twin, that is one to look at. If you want a single... go with the 283 Check. Both of these hulls have been around for a while and can be had at a reasonable price.
Just another option for you Whassup...

Good luck with your choice..

Dick

See?!.....Whichever boat you buy, it will no doubt be the best boat made on the face of the planet......

There will never be a consensus when it comes to a post made about the best 28-32 boat around. It simply boils down to what in "YOUR MIND" is the best 28-32 boat around. Right now you're hearing a lot of smoke and mirrors. Let's talk substance if we're gonna recommend....

Reckless288,
If you were referring to my post.. I was just pointing out another option..
The "Your Mind" idea is correct.. but there are a lot of factors that go into it.. What kind of boating does one do? What are their personal preferences.. things like that.
I have ridden in both of those Checkmates, as yet I have not been able to take mine to the edge yet do to motor problems..(long sad story). I boat on Lake Michigan and do have occasion to get in the ruff stuff (another relative term). Some boats work better than others due to enviroment.. river, lake, ocean, etc.
From what Wassup was talking about, in "My MIND" I thought the Checkmates deserve a look at. And then he can decide.. the American way..

Just my .02....

Dick
