How fast would this boat be???????
2001 27' Formula 271 Fastech with a Volvo DPX 500. What type of performance would you expect out of this set up? I've always been under the impression the duroprops weren't much good over 50-55 mph.

The Volvo motors were built by Innovation Marine. Excellent pieces. The DPX drives are very reliable. Built better than, and shift smoother than any Bravo.
That being said, if resale is an issue, anything non-Merc can always be a problem.
Also, the 600DPX driven Scarab 33 AVS did not run 99 out of the box. It ran around 93 in factory stock condition which was still very fast for a factory boat at that time.
