Thinking of buying 33'-40'...

Im looking at new boats in the 33'-40' size range. What do others recommend? Would like to stay below 500 K and use merc motors. Probably v, but have not ruled out cat. Do most boating at LOTO and alittle at Lake Travis, Tx. Thanks for the input.

Don't you already have a boat?

So I complied and come to find out the bank underwriters say I don't net enough income. Even though I already have the boat along with purchase agreement and titles!.... The dealer has been great to work with all along, but not sure how this is going to go....

Being that you have a 500k budget, and looking at 33-40' boats, V or Cat, I'd say you have many, many options.

What will you be doing with the boat, just running around for an afternoon, or overnighting on it, etc. Are you a speed junkie? As in does 120+ mph turn you on? Or are you looking for something more family oriented that rides and handles well. Hard to narrow it down with out knowing your intentions with the boat.

Send me a blank check and Ill pick something out for you.

NKissau 04-03-2009 04:14 PM

Not sure if it's still for sale but Jassman was selling his 43' Nortech V. Better than a new boat and would be awesome at LOTO also below your budget. But since you said up to 40' I would say a 39' Nortech V would be awesome as well. Nice cabin, handles rough water very well. Good luck, with your budget you can have just about anything you want!

We have several options available to you.

How fast do want to go?
How fast do you want to spend gas money?
Do you want a fully decked out cabin?

You have possesion of the boat, correct? If yes, it's your boat bro. All paper work is legit. Other parties will try to tell you different. It's your boat!!!!! They might be trying to back out because of B.S.

Yeah thats what atty tells me, but he also says the bank could foreclose on it and then I would have to sue them over it. Heres the thing- dealer tells me the bank didnt approve loan, then why did they give me the boat? And with that in mind, who do I send the payment to? The purchase agreement lists the bank that "didnt" approve it.

Complete ****** up mess!

pumpkin 04-06-2009 02:08 AM

a 39 cigarette top gun with 700's would be perfect v bottom at loto, plenty fast and handles rough stuff well, plus would be great resale. If you want a cat Skater no other

I'm an old retiree who spent his entire life in the Corporate world. I apologize in advance, but there's something about this thread that leaves me cold. The bank finances a half million dollar boat and asks for tax returns AFTER the fact? An earlier post said the owner had the titles. Was the bank listed as a lien holder on the boat title? Hear me Scottie?

Yeah the bank is listed as the lien holder. Does this make any since to you? If the loan wasnt approved, why would I receive the boat and all paperwork at time of closing? You can't tell me any dealer is going to give someone a boat that it hasn't been paid for.

Is your down payment gone? This sounds like a mess, hope everything works out.

Nor-Tech 39' Super Vee is my dream boat. Are you listening Trond and Terry? But Jassman's boat is a perfect 10+++.

I'm sorry but this thread is too hysterical. Dude comes on and says he's got 500-large to plunk down on a boat with the only requirement being that it has "merc motors" -- maybe a cat, maybe a V...........and it's like a piece of bloody meat was just tossed in the middle of a school of sharks.

bobkatz 04-06-2009 05:13 PM

I bet there is much more to this story than what we know!

katz

reminds me of a Jim Darr thread...maybe he's related..:food-smiley-007::grinser010:

nsformula 04-06-2009 09:41 PM

that's how the world got in the current mess,
give money to anyone for anything, due diligence done or not, and hope enough people can actually pay enough to offset those who don't.
hard to imagine banks are still doing that.

Haha..........actually it's 17-years old. And ya know what, my 17-year old Formula is still worth more than your 2006 20' CROWNLINE was new! Now, I'm not one to diss on peoples things, but you brought that one on yourself.

Now go back to the sandbox, tell mommy to pour you a little Kool-Aid and keep dreaming of $500K boats, Jr.

Wow! You really have too much time on your hands.... My brother was on my page and asked the 500K question. He was just messing around. I do have the CL and thought I had purchased an 08' Baja, but after having it in my possesen for over a month...dealer told me I "wasn't" approved and came and got it.
..... So anyway- you can go _ _ ck yourself!

ActiveFun 06-11-2009 07:40 AM

If you didn't get approved for the $500k why are you still looking to spend $500k?

When I responded to bms26's post in early April,I was trying to be tactful. I was also talking in code when I referenced "Scottie". I'm sure you old timers here rember Big Scottie. All kinds of flags went up for me right from the getgo on this thread. Hopefully, they'll ban the jerk.

AIR TIME 06-12-2009 07:44 PM

I thought he said his brother was using his name and posted the Queston, and bms26 so was it your bro that started it? also you are saying a dealership let you take a boat and took it back, what about sales tx, deposit, reg, you payed these things and used it for a month this sounds fishy:party-smiley-004:. so do explain and what dealer?,
