boats

the donzi minx i know has more cockpit depth etc, i do like them and have been looking. the cigarette looks really cool, i just know they are a little heavy and slower. The velocity would probably be the fastest being a pad bottom....and considering i have a hydrostream vking padv 650lb hull that i have driven on the pad up close to 100gps...id say the velocity should be a little easier to drive...I have seen some velocity's with the 300x outboards, they look nice....I've seen a couple nicely restored cigarette's that really look good. Seems like everybody has a donzi, or at least you see more of them than the other boats...like the cig

Def true. This boat is worthless in anything over 1fters, if your trying to enjoy the ride, but is manageable... A procharger is in the works, I want to run 100mph in this thing.. :evilb:

for your usage a 24 or so ft cat would give you the speed your looking for and still ride better than what you currently have.

I agree and was thinking the same thing. I owned a 22' Talon, a centerpod tunnel, and it handled the rough very well for a 22'.

One of those single sterndrive 26' RPM boats would be sweet, but they are too new to find low priced used ones...

talon and stryker

yeah, i do like the 22 talon, much nicer than the 21 talon....larger sponsons and cokpit depth.....friend of mine that i bought my vking from is rigging one of the original 22 talons with twin 280's....i did see that stryker in atlanta...not bad for the price....

What kind of Donzi did you own?

I have both a 18 and 26. They are way different animals. The 18 you ride on and the 26 you ride in. There is a big difference in the types of boats mentioned here. We have gone from classic looks to cats. There is also a pretty big difference between a 22 and a 26.

My 26 runs in the mid 90's and can handle some pretty good water for a 26 foot hull. I would not exactly describe it as tall though. It takes a good bit of power to get you there but you said you were looking for a "classic" looking hull.

The 22ZX would be a good smaller option but again it is not a "classic" hull.

why not something from tuffmarine?
