Does Hustler build a 49? I know they build a 51. I saw one with trip Yanmar 480/Arnesons. Cigarette builds a 49 Wide Body yacht.

Two big ones cost more and weigh more than three small ones.

All kidding aside, if you remember when offshore racing was more offshore than in the river or bay, the multi-engine boats dominated. The Popeyes, Eric's Reality, Gancia they dominated from an endurance standpoint, loose an engine and keep going.

RIK's statement is right on - more is better. Not for nothing but look at effeiecny of a triple outboard boat verus a twin - better MPG.

If I get back to a spot in life where I can buy a decent sized boat again, I would go triples over twins be it gas or diesel.
