i have found a cheap cig and i have contact with a mechanic i US who can change the engines to 496ho with mpi and then there will be no problems with CE i hope!

Hej Thomas,

Huh?

I had a Cigarette and currently own a Baja Outlaw. If it's a 38 then it must be a 38 Special. Big cabin and has a windshield and lot's of amenities. Much more of a family boat and can be used as a "cruiser".

I've been on and driven a Cafe Racer. There is no disputing the build quality and wave crushing ability of a Cig. Much smaller cabin though. If you are ocean boating there is no substitute (my opinion) to a Cig.

Power also makes a big difference. Both boat need a lot of power to go really fast. I think HP500's would net about 75 in either boat.

If I could trade up my 29 OL for a Cafe Racer (or Gun) I would in a heartbeat but I run the Pacific Ocean most of the time.

I will also agree with Bajafresh as well. I currently own a Baja outlaw and it's more of a all around type of boat. The 38 Baja is for sure a weekend/family style. My own 2-cent.

if you are interested, my friend is dying to sale his 38 Scarab. I did all the work for him. This boat is like brand new. Everything, i mean everything on it has been changed. He is having hard financial times and on top of it, his wife is pregnant. You can get it from him in high 60's. here is the link

i have been looking more and more at a scarab 38, and i really think it looks very nice, but how is the hull and the overall finish vs. the cig.?
i`m thinking about the construction of the boat, is a cig better built, and should the scarab be compared to the baja 38 special instead?
