definitly not a russian sub. several reasons...

1. the enitre concept of a sub is stealth. the only reason it would be surfaced is a mechanical emergency.

2. look at the size compared to the jetski

3. the "masts" definitly NOT hydrodynamic and would cause cavitation/noise submerged (not that russian subs are all that quiet compared to american subs)

I used to be a sonar tech on a nuclear sub, Russian subs are more than likely off our coasts, the have been for years I have heard them and chased them off san diego and hawaii.

No doubt that a sub would ever run around with those masts permanently affixed. They are retractable periscope, radar antenna, radio and satellite communications and navigation masts.
