There used to be a dealer in the midwest, I want to say the first name of the guy was Dave.
Anyway, they were (for years) the absolute best price on new trucks. I remember several people from the diesel forums flying out and driving back.
For the extra $1,200 bucks, get a SRW 1 ton. That was what I intended on getting, ended up with training wheels on the back.
The 3500 (SRW) will give you another 900 lbs carrying weight on a manual truck.

No commercial vehicles allowed on our parkways. Even if you can scam your way to get passenger plates on a pick-up truck ( I did ),you still can't technically drive it on the parkways around here ( even though most SUV's are bigger and weigh more ). People think that if you have a back seat that you're legal, not true. A couple of years ago alot of dealerships got into a whole lot of trouble for "illegally" registering pick-ups passenger.

On LI, no trucks of any size on the parkways. Robert Moses started that law years ago, and I really don't want to explain why. He was an old school, millionaire developer.
