Whipple 700SCi Upgrade
Anyone have any first hand experience "GOOD & BAD" with the upgrade kit for Mercury 700 SCi and what does it involve. Did any measureable difference in performance occur with upgrade. Thanks for your input.

Do a search on this...
For both 600sci and 700sci.. basically the same engine with different cams. Usually about 8-10 mph increase. The Whipple upgrade is a first class product. I love mine! Chris P.S. The only negative is that you are probably going to need bigger props :evilb: |
had it done a little over a year ago. took the boat from a 100 mph boat in perfect conditions light fuel light load to 100 any conditions and a best speed of 109. same props, they just spin a little higher which is ok since the whipple ecm reflash raises the rev limiters

How many hours of use since you had it done. No issues I take it? Thanks in advance.
Turning up the boost makes me think the motors are not going to last and the NXT trans might break we are planning trips to Keys and Bahamas and dont wont to have problems |

There is a proven method to upgrading to new trannies...takes less power to turn them too.

I am very happy with it. I go to several runs a year and yes some people go by me also they break a lot of times and I wind up ahead of them at the end of the day. I am just like the next guy I want to go faster, but this boat will cruse at 85 mph making 5 lb. of boost all day. I came from a Scarab 26 that was about wide open at that speed My last boat 35 lighting was really taxing the motors to cruse 85 mph all day. My concerns are as follows: 1.) How much re-freshing (bottom or top end) do you have to do when you turn them up 2.) Will the Trans/clutch handle it 3.) I do not want to go back to pulling motors in and out of a boat again |
