Anybody know what it weighs?
Didnt realize it was 56 feet... jeeze! |
What a shame. Big Al would never have let this happen to his dream.
|
They gave up on the project. Too much time and money. I believe Copeland Motorsports is being dissolved as well. Wonder what the asking price on this will be. Hopefully someone picks it up and does why Al wanted to do all along

you can figure whatever the (4) T-55 lycoming turbines, (4 )ASD 11 drives + rigging and trailer....hull is a big question mark... any ideas on what a reasonable value is ???
|
shame

I still think the idea and basic design is sound, it would just take some decent engineers (rather than resin slingers) to get everything in sync.

At 15,000 lbs, it should run around 270 mph. Even if it were at 20k, it should still run over 230 mph. |
Were any actual weights given? Those T-55 turbines weigh significantly less than standard blown BBC...
|
What is "grossly"? 10,000 15,000 20,000?
Sort of kind of makes sense though. May add stability at supposed 240mph speeds. Too light might be an issue at 240 in the event of issues like waves height, flip over, the crazy canard.... |
