The ad says that the owner has ordered a new boat. It certainly seems priced to sell.

There's nothing wrong with a repo boat. A friend of mine picked up a 98 353 Formula for 20K. you could eat off it because it was sooo clean! A 51 is a BIG boat with big maintenence and therefore people at this stage would rather spend less and have it personalized to their taste. For 350-400K you can build a really nice one off 32-40 and have it EXACTLY the way you want it. just my .02

Well as long as the drives hold up it's all good. I love the pastel colors too. i would have chosen different colors in the cabin though. Speaking about the cabin, I had the great opportunity to go aboard John Haggin's OL and I was shocked by how low it was. I'm only 5'10" and I had to bend over to walk. On the other end of that scale is of course the Black Thunder. :D

I like this boat - triple bravos are a feature to me. Triples distribute the load evenly and rarely nuke drives. I will give you a call on this boat.

There is a 2009 Cig 42X w/ 700's in Powerboat that has an asking price of $399K. For 400K or so, that would be the boat to have in that price range.

I think B B Billy is about 75K high in my opinion, but I wish him luck in selling and congrats on the new ride.

LP This is his 2nd 51' OL, before that he had a 45' Sonic and before that a 35' Sonic... He bought the OL's after I left the marina so unfortunately I didn't get to work on the OL's myself but I know the guys who have! |

I don't think there's anyting wrong with repo boats either, however it's a risk and I've seen some go well and others not so well. This particular boat has no "history" or "karma". :) |
[QUOTE=Panther;3059709]Don't get me wrong, I'm partial to Cigs, but the 42X and the 51' OL just don't compare.... Maybe the Marauder, even then it's a totally different boat...
Agreed 2 different boats. However, my point is that for $400K or so, you could have a almost new 700 42 Cig, maybe even with warrantys. Just doing price comparisons. |

I could buy a brand new 3 bedroom house for $450K here in Middletown or a used 4 bedroom house for $500K but lets say I have 3 kids so I'll want a 4 bedroom house so each kid has a room to sleep in! :lolhit: If someone's in the market for a 51' OL, please take the time to look this one over. Two thing I've learned in sales is the only stupid question is the one not asked (in this case maybe it's the posted price) and your job starts when the client says no. |
