Here is my friend's 51' OL. Some of you have probably seen it on your way to or from Key West on Summerland Key. Not sure why the price has not been updated, no offense to the listing broker.

Yeah, like me, he is not the most mechanically inclined guy so every little thing that went wrong with the boat needed "professional" help. And it was his first boat. Obviously he wasn't thrilled to miss out on most of last year's season while the boat was being fixed. He is looking for something a little more simple and less loud since he just bought a house on Cape Cod and doesn't want to scare his new neighbors.

Sounds like he should buy my friends 51'!! :)

BTW, I know Mr. Ricciardelli's son very well... We've boated together and have been friends for years. :drink:

So that was his first boat ? Says about 60 hours on power but the starboard motors top end redone 6 hours ago. What broke? 1 new trans or 2. Not dogging your buddy but it reads like alot of the problems might have had alot to due with him and this being way to much of a boat for his first boat. It's on a hydrohoist in the keys ? When was the last time you saw it ? On a lift over salt water it's going to be hard to keep in bristol condition. I would like as much honest info on this boat I can get, I still think the engines should be rebuilt again and drives if he didn't do them yet. But it's got me thinking.

The boat was kept and used in Charlestown, MA and was only brought down to the Keys this winter. He has never used it in the Keys.

Fountain40ICBM can probably give you a much better background on the boat regarding why the refresh in the summer of 09' was necessary. I can't comment on anything regarding the condition as I have not seen it in person.

For the record Tres or Brad (can't remember which) came up to Boston and he took their course.

Call the broker and see what you can find out.

I don't think there's anyting wrong with repo boats either, however it's a risk and I've seen some go well and others not so well. This particular boat has no "history" or "karma". :)

I totally agree with you but from what I've seen the people with the $$$ are being real careful! In the past year I've lost half of my Porsche or Ferrari guys because they've sold or are afraid of spending $ to keep their chit right. And they use the cars alot more than boats....

with bravos, you will need to be in the high 200's to sell

This boat is worth alot more than high 200's. The Bravos can last as proven on this boat if driven and maintained correctly.

High 200's is an insult

Bill,

With the new addition to your family, I think this OL has your name all over it:cool-smiley-026:
