Any other ideas on a weekend when there is not a large event somewhere else in the southeast?

I've been waiting to add yours to the pile so I can get a canoe. LOL.
Plus, MOJO sold...
I think we should do a weekend on Lanier the last week of June. The usual suspects plus anyone that can make it. Go out on the town in the ATL and party on the lake for the weekend.

So you are thinking about June 25th - 27th?? This may be tuff to do with all the July 4th vacations that are happening.

You all need to do Powerboating for a Cure - Norfolk Va.
It is the biggest event in Mid Atlantic (James River & Chesapeake Bay area) - 2 day event with a fun run and poker run, 2 parties, prizes etc!
I hear we are drawing some of the "big boys" from Fla, NJ and LOTO to this event. It was the buzz in the boating community last year.
Looking good for a Poker Run village of sorts - so far I hear we have Illmor, Sunsation, Donzi and a few others bringing their rigs and support trailers. It is modeled heavily after the Jacksonville River Rally Poke Run - in fact Bill Pyburn Sr has been helping us this year and last. You should give it a shot - Powerboating for a Cure is NOT some small regional event! 4 - 5 years ago, Jacksonville River Rally was on of the best kept "secrets" in poker runs, that's where Powerboating for a Cure was last year. Now we have the attention of the big boys and this event is rapidly becoming one of THE must do events.
There is a thread on OSO from last year and one for 2010. Read the comments from last year - participants said Powerboating for a Cure was the best Poker Run they have attended. . . . . . .
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/p...test-info.html (last years thread - a good read)
The event was SO successful, we got the attention of the Platinum Powerboat Club;

Powerboating for a Cure is on their schedule to attend (check out their website and schedule) - and they only do the "cream of the crop" events - just sayin. . . . . . .

Yep, that was the reason I was trying to do August. Maybe there just isn't a "good" weekend this Summer to do it. Shame, I really was hoping to get the whole gang to "my" lake.
