Anyone know if the OL 28 will have the option of twin small blocks?

Matt Trulio 06-29-2010 01:02 PM

Just got off the phone with Mike Fiore, who said they're trying to keep the price of the 28-footer at $150,000.

"I'm trying to keep retail pricing in line with what the 'buy pricing' is," he said. "We're just trying to keep the number reasonable."

The 28 will only be offered in a single-engine version.

Fiore also said they are trying to keep the 36-footer mid $300,000 range.

Yep, must be my eyes....................:D

economy??????

Basic paint, minimum options, nothing really exciting about it.

Mid 300's is disappointing they were trying to do it for 300 flat. We'll see what it ultimately comes out at.

Economy? Boat is an 08, you have been trying to sell it for 2+ years! How many other boats have you sold other than this one, seems quite a few marked "SOLD" on your site. This boat is not great, the interior is very dark and a repaint will be significant since the graphics spill onto the vinyl as well.

Boat is ugly, if it was all white like the last OSO boat it would also have a "SOLD" sign on it!

BTW is the interior falling apart on this boat like it did on the brand new 2009 silver 42X?

Big Time 06-29-2010 06:00 PM

Not to take this thread off the subject, but I actaully really like that cig and the paint and the interior!! But that's just me...

Sorry. Maybe it was the previous one that was low on options.

I think the 700's OSO boat is a beauty. And it ran like a scalded rabbit. I really like the colors and "less is more" paint.

Mike & I had a good talk today and were able to get things cleared up. A small misunderstanding on both sides.

And Mike I apologize for making a derogatory comment on a public forum.

DaveP, as one poster mentioned you are not known for mendacity, or exaggeration. Therefore this comment coming from you carries substantial weight. I'm curious who you meant.

The post seems to imply either Cigarette or Lavey does not pay their bills, or maybe you could have been referring to someone else??

Back to the OL....

If its 150K with a 525 OL's 28 will be running against 28's with 600 mercs and Ilmor 650's sold for the same price from many other manufacturers.

I personally cant imagine anyone dropping this kind of coin for a boat with a 525 in it......

I commend OL for this move and am excited to see them.

(sent from Lake Nacimiento - having a great week! )

Not sure if you are shooting for "options" or "opinions" in your quote......

I would strongly suspect my 32 Sunsation is more boat than you own!

No comment about the interiors falling apart on brand new Cigs? Brand new, warehouse stored/climate controlled perfection and the interior falls apart so bad the factory has to redo it? hmmmmmm.........

Thanks for posting the pics for those of us trying to figure out which one.

I think the paint is nice, love the colors. However, I have no idea the ask and what else is in the range.

As for the 150K new 28's, people better keep buying them so there are used ones in 10 years for people to buy used.

Same with the 36, I could see being in something like that in 10 years used.:drink:

The interiors don't fail on the Cigs unless they have been messed with.

Actually Paul, Cig had an issue with about 15-18 boats in 2008-09 with the glue used in the interior. They tried something new and it didn't work out real well. Anything glued fell apart and they had to re-do the interiors. The 42X mentioned had the issue. Hey it happens to everyone when you rely on outside vendors/3rd party suppliers but what I thought was wrong was Cig didn't want to fix the boat until AFTER it was sold. That doesn't give the buyers a warm, fuzzy feeling after contemplating writing a large check for a BRAND NEW boat that already needs warranty work!

Cdowns?...........:party-smiley-004:

pm203 07-01-2010 09:04 AM

Well, I didn't know that. Cigs have cabins?

I meant exactly what I said - Outerlimits doesn't pay their bills. At least this their tab from last year's poke run which has been emailed and fax a rediculous amount of times.

Even in this tough economy, every other sponsor has paid their bills on time or in 1-2-3 payments over a short period of time.

Thank you for clarification.

I could not tell who you meant by your comment, because you said "they" immediately following a thread mentioning Lavey & Cig.

I remember a previous thread where you requested Mike Fiore(sp?) call you.

Disappointing to hear this, as you have gone out of your way to sponsor events focusing on great value to the boaters (read you are making thin margins) and this non payment will likely put your event into the negative.

You are correct about the glue issue.....It was'nt the fact that cig did not want to fix the boat until it was sold.....We did'nt know the head liner had fallen until the buyer was already here...The guy did'nt want the boat...cig fixed it and we sold it to another buyer...:drink:
