Not sure if this is at all relevant, as it could be argued both for or against, but my old STV driven buy a friend of mine ran 151.5mph, peak.
Now before I get shot at, it is a MOD-V. The center pad is BELOW the outer sponsons and you better believe it drives like a Vee. It was still accelerating when his testicular fortitude ran dry, (about 20mph farther than mine). Not that it matters, but the comments about the old boats (Allison) still holding the kilo record are more about the lack of kilo runs than anything. The technology is there to go faster than most anyone I know is willing to go. But, I do know some lake boats that will exceed the current kilo record speeds. |
176.56 MPH

The Australian Ski Race boats are running 130MPH+ one up.
One of the larger ski races was won in record time recently: "112km winding river course in an astonishing 35 minutes 14 seconds" bare in mind thats an average speed of ~120mph on a winding narrow river towing a skiier and heavy fuel load, plus driver and observer. http://excitations-stock.com/wordpre...n-ski-boat.jpg http://www.racepaint.com.au/wp-conte...ads/blazen.jpg http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forum...1&d=1205359504 http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forum...1&d=1205359504 http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...24/H127546.jpg and this next one hit 135mph 60% throttle and 124 mph 2 up during testing. http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forum...1&d=1214850888 http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forum...3&d=1214850888 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uPC3...ic.php?t=1258# |
