Michigan city-the boat is running better than it ever has-so much so that I'm realy wondering how I ever drove it before-it was purely suicidal. All the I'll handling effects from ****ty inconsistent unmatched junk turbines are a thing of the past for JBS racing.thank you to everyone involved in helping us-All JBS crew members,James Gresham and PPS,And Skater
PPS is the way to go they do GREAT work have a good race and safe one .

Jeff is in the hospital right now. a bit of rough water knocked loose a kidney stone possibly! the cat scans r still not back!

we didn't run all that hard really...we were really excited that the prop came off at the speed it did and not at 200 or something. not much was holding it on! i am sure there were/are tons of pix on here as i type this.

saturday we went out a couple times after some engine adjustments each time and we are very pleased with them!

got to go check on jeff again!

Question

Joe,
How often do you Magnaflux Test your drive shafts and props and when was the last time they were tested ???

Sorry to see this type of damage, but the bright side is you got to save the prop !

Hope for a quick recovery for Jeff.

I've had two stones and certainly would not want to go through it again....

can not tell you about these drives/tubes other than they have so VERY few hours on them.

mag testing, amongst all other testing we have done in our merc drives was the norm while i was still working at ford engineering and development....just less than a mile away from our shop for the boat! looks like something else JBS Racing needs to learn!

what is the make up of the drive shafts, how often do you check the blades on the props, via dye penetrant, the Hydros do it after every run, and discard the prop after 100 hrs or so.

Default Drives

JBS racing now uses TNT direcly. They do magna flux everything. Also there are upgraded shafts for the torque tubes.Obviosly I have to see why we were charged for upgraded shafts and don't have them.just another after effect of being at Arrudas shop-who knows who's torque tubes thosevare and how long they've been run.
All this BS will be over soon as JBS racing has taken everything in house.the boat was running beautifully too-it's a bummer but not the end of the world.I was psyched the prop is still in the boat!

Default Torque tube

Turbine Marine strikes again.they installed my "new" spare ate of torque tubes after the Bimini run.there was less than an hour of running time on them-after it broke we find that they had already been used and were already broken from someonesles use-nice job guys-I will just add it to the other lawsuits.
