Tell him to put fuel in it instead of gas and his mileage will increase

My buddies 2000 gets 18 to 20 on the road.

My last Powerstroke was in a 1997 F-250 (old body style) and it would get 22-24 mpg on the highway. It had 3.73 gears and the Gale Banks Power Pac.

The new Powerstroke is in a 2002 F-450 Crew Cab Dually and it is only getting 16 mpg on the highway. This engine is bone stock for now and the truck has 4.30 gears so this explains the mileage...but it is a towing machine!!!!

The truck has 4500 miles on it. He doesn’t use it to tow. What kind of mileage should he be getting? Any ideas what might be wrong?
Thanks,
Dan
Number one you don't put gas in a power stroker. Number two If it has 373 gears over 20mpg if it has 410s up to 19 after 90 thousand.
I have 1ton crew cab dually and i pull 42 lighting 2001, and get 12 on the average. With out the boat i get up to 19.

2000 F-250 crew SB. Stock except for K&N. 18.5 MPG combined city /highway. If under 60 MPH on highway, ~22 MPG. If towing #7000 @~70-75 MPH, highway MPG drops to low mid teens.
