Default More On Outerlimits SV-52 Quad Diesel V-bottom

Here's little more detail on the new Outerlimits I mentioned in last week's blog on the company's engine program, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...a-closer-look/.

Only one photo with this piece—of the engine installation. Wish more were available. I'm sure they will be.

Wow; nice package for sure...triple digits w/diesels.

Curious, why not run two engines in tandem (two drives vs 4) like Bob Morgans 4 engine Skater?

Two engines in tandem never works as well as independant engines, they fight each other ever so slightly. It not like these are 6-71's in a LCM, they had 2 and 4 engines into common shaft configurations.

Also, lesson from Buzzi if you have 4 engines and one breaks you still have 3 props to run the boat with all at full speed, the boat will still run like hell.

curious to see what just 3 of these 560hp mills would do in this exact boat.. probably rigHt AROUND 100MPH.

We made a triple 600hp 46' for the 1990 Venice to Monte Carlo, it ran within 5 mph of the 4 engine Gancia. It would do a 100 mph.

I can tell you the quad boat just handled better.
