You can go Livorsi for controls and gauges, and imco for almost everything else.

although the Ilmor does/Can use a Merc Impeller from an availability standpoint I like that

If there was a issue Ilmor has done a dam good job responding.

Agreed Steve-

I see bits of chin music and claims from non owners- but can find no issues in writing from actual from owners or documented by a third party (which says to me Ilmor did their job)

I did my best to build a non-Mercury boat with the Volvo/Innovation engines/drives in 2000, but still wound up with Mercury K-planes and Mercury trim indicators. I don't count the trim pumps, because they are made by Oildyne. (The only Mercury part is the tag.) It saved me $37,000 versus installing 575 Sci's - there's your sign.

My Ilmor-powered Batboat is 100% non-Mercury if you don't count the trim tabs. They were branded "Kiekhafer", but I milled the logo off of them....

If you had custom power, ilmor/arneson drives, latham/arneson tabs, MM throttles, what other Mercury parts would a boat have? Seems like it'd be pretty easy to do unless I'm forgetting something.

Water pump impeller- although I suppose 3rd parties make them as well. I stick with merc here.

Im curious- if waterboy is asking because he feels slighted by Mercury in some way.

Ive always been happy with their product- but love that I have a choice now.

Gotcha, I was going with Sterling, chief, YPM, Zul etc...... count as non-merc, but I could deal with a water impeller as the only merc product if I had any of those engines.
