I don't think there was anything wrong with the first boat, I think they just decided they wanted to go faster and needed a slightly different boat to do it.

First boat boat was a wrap. Second boat is paint. Last I heard KE retired and no longer with LPG. Installing some of the last of his handy work this spring in a '70 GTO convertible. .
