Go with brand for resale.

However, my 2006 46 cig with everything new or rebuilt in 09, shows a ten, and is listed at 328K, isn't flyin' down the rode to the new owner.

I'm just glad I bought what I wanted and love the boat. Lossin 100's of thousands of dollars but enjoying it is one thing. Loosing money on a boat that you thought would loose you less but whishin you had the other boat will be painful.

One boat is a stock production boat. The other one is a custom built, one-off ,top of the line boat. Can you get by with a Fountain? Of course you can. But who buys one of these boats without emotion? I say buy what's in your budget and what excites you. If a Fountain does it, go for it! If it doesn't, and you have the coin, keep looking. You can never justify spending $200K plus for a 38 foot boat with a 8 foot beam that you can't live on, $hit on or cook on. Its all about emotion.

XR drives with sportmasters are PERECTLY FINE DRIVES. It's all in the sticks.

The 38 Fountain is more like a 35 Cig. Nice boats, very diff animals though

I never got wat you mean by one is a production boat and one is a custom. They are both built from scratch and you can do whatever you want to either..?

What makes it custom built, one-off? Paint/vinyl?

I would say the 45 Maximus boats were custom built, one off. The Strength and Honor boat as well but a stock TG w/525's is a production boat. I think they have made hundreds of them. After all this was for dealer stock, just like the Fountain.

Remember, that 98% of the people who see those two boats parked side by side at the slips will think they are valued the same.

And 100% of all girls will

So are you saying that a Skater or OL are production boats as well. Maybe, I should rephrase it to one is a high production boat and the other one is a low production boat? Either way, the higher production boat suffers in the quality department when compared to a low production boat.
