bigger volume blowers with same boost means more air and less heat. less heat means denser air. denser air means more horsepower. atleast that's what i learned from high school physics....:coolcowboy: :bong:

Also, the 557 vs 582 debate.... If you compared a 557 vs 582 where both motors had the same specs (cam, compression, heads, intake, etc...), there would be approximately 1lb of boost difference. Regardless, great numbers Dustin, I know it wasn't easy :) Can't wait to see how it runs in your monster cat! :D |

Peak HP was at 7300rpm, rev limit 7400rpm. While yes, this is high for a standard pleasure boat, this is just to show the potential of the SC's with only 15psi of boost. It could clearly go to 18psi and 6500rpm and make 1850hp. Or 2000hp at 7300rpm.
This is also not the our biggest intercooler setup, which at this level, adds almost 75hp. This also did not have our new bigger throttle bodies. So this was not done to go 500 hours, and believe it or not, I do know what it takes to maintain a 7300rpm. Start a different thread if you want a twin screw vs turbo debate. Thanks for your kind reply Inregards To your closing comment, your thread title seemed very inviting with you confidence / new power package. Again best wishes with your continued testing. Jon |
i am sure there is more to the story and the engine build than just my .02 i added and i agree with you. i dream and live vicariously through everyone on this site...nice power!

Do the twin 4.0L whipples make more power than a 8.3L Whipple everything else equal?

Engine looks real familiar
