Yeah, but the 63 looks badazz rolling along about 30 with a tail about 40 feet long and ten high

I guess I was kind of misleading when I said I was looking for a cottage on the water. I stay 3-5 days on my Panther so anything larger would be more accommodating. I have friends with 35'-50' Sea Rays. I just like the Idea of the 502's EFI with Bravo drives and 48mph on a 38 footer. The efficiency of the setup sounds good. I think I need to actually find one local so I can take a look at the layout before I think about pursuing the SS any further.

One other boat I haven't seen mentioned in this catagory is the Wellcraft Excalibur 38 and 45. Both came with 502 mags and bravo outdrives, both haul ass for a cruiser.

Can you tell I've been dreaming of something along the same lines?

That is beautiful!
I am more in the $25,000-$50,000 range. Something I can pay cash for or minimum loan, if you can even get a loan on a '91-'94 cruiser style boat.

Thank you...
I'm no expert on money, but I would thingk you would be hard pressed to get a boat loan on that old of a boat... May have to get a Home Equity... good luck in your search.

I currently own a 2003 340 sundancer, mpi 454 with v-drives. i had one with the 6.2 v-drives. stay away from small block powered ones. you have to run them hard to cruise at a decent speed and sluggish getting up full of fuel and a good load for the weekend trip. per say. you can find them for anywhere from mid 70 s and up. there are deals out there. MAKE SURE IF YOU FIND A BIG BLOCK ONE ITS HAD THE EXHAUST CHANGE, THEY HAD A WATER REVERSION ISSUE. SEARAY CAME OUT WITH A REVISED EXHAUST KIT. TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT MAKE ONE COMPLAINT ABOUT MINE AT ALL. BOAT RUNS AWESOME WITH BIG BLOCK INJECTED WITH V-DRIVES. YOU WOULD NOT BE SORRY AT ALL. GO DRIVE ONE.
