I have a couple older Ferrari's, you pull up to the casinos in NJ with a new shinny 2011 turbo Porsche or an older red Ferrari which car do people talk about? I think the Cigarette and Nortech are the same relation as the two cars, both great in different ways but what reaction do you want?

I couldn't give a rat's behind about what anyone's reaction would be. Whatever I buy, it's for me. I've never found it very satisfying to purchase anything based on what image it projected. Doesn't make sense to me.

I have tri-525's so I can't answer, sorry!! Although I prefer my setup over twin 700 blower motors for this size boat! Bigger motors & # 6's R a dif story!! That's just me! 525's Start & & run great every time!!

I really like the Nortechs, and OL's, but man "specifically", I'd go for the 46 American Muscle II baby! I just think the 46 Cigarettes look more aggressive & have the perfect lines running down all 46 feet for my tastes in a long vee.

My personal favorite would be Strip Poker, but I realize some would prefer to have the newest Mercury power like AM-II has. That 46 that Cobra has is a BEAUTIFUL boat as well.

You have to know that whether you buy the Nortech, an OL, or the Cigarette, you're not paying for a "name" with those brands. The reason they all have earned a "name", is because of superior quality to their competition. They will all last a LONG time without stressing, rattling, or any other structural weakening down the road. I think the Nortech probably has more "bling" in the cabin & cockpit, which is certainly important to some. I like more of a no frills design, since I wouldn't use any of the sinks, huge bathrooms w/ showers, microwaves, etc.

You can't go wrong with the choices you've listed, but personally the 46 Cigarette is the ultimate in big vee bottoms to me. Good luck, & post pics of what you decide on!

It's an example, Nortech is a refined image, Cigarette is a bad boy image both good yet both different. You can't tell me that most Cigarette owners didn't buy their boat because of an "image" they try to convey - face it we all do in our own ways that's why there are so many brands and we all don't just have Fountains - did I just that? :lolhit:

The Nortech is more of a cruiser boat with all its amenities. The Cig may be old school, but sure is built like a tank and rigged second to none. The bottom line? What will make you smile the most? That is what you should buy.

Yes you did do that :lolhit:

At least the top brands have the oomph to back up the name though. It's nice to have a feeling of pride when purchasing a product that's at least as good as the name brand. It's also great to have choices between more than one or two great products.

I like the fewest ammentities possible. I do not want to hear any rattles or have things broke when I'm done boating. Offshore boats take a pounding and no matter how an interior is put together, if its not just the basics it'll come apart.

Apache is the legend when it comes to rough water boating, but most people dont boat in 6+ footers everyday. In "normal" rough conditions, say 3-5 footers the Apache will be left in the dust. So IMPO, American Muscle II 46 Cig RR has them beat in most "normal" sea conditions.....PLUS BLING! Sorry
