Screen names

Hi guys, thought it would be interesting to hear the story behind everyones screennames here on OSO. Some are very self explanatory, others tough to figure out, so how did you pick your screen name?

Got mine due to boating with my 5 yr old nephew, who every time we went on the boat had so much fun going fast, as soon as we got on the water, no wake zone or not, he would start screaming "go fast Scott, go fast Scott". He would keep this up, screaming at the top of his lungs, until we took off, and then would start jumping up and down he was so excited. Every time we got back in to a no wake zone it would start all over. I think we have a future offshore racer in the making!

Let the stories roll!

anewway 01-09-2011 12:57 PM

Many years ago I got into trouble for sending "non-business" type email at a former place of employment. I was the unofficial social director at the plant, and everyone was mad that I couldn't send out party notifications anymore.

There was a relatively new internet hosted email called Hotmail coming out, so I set up an account and started sending the party emails from there. I looked at it as "a new way" to send out the emails, so anewway was it was. Been using it ever since.

Racegirl3 01-09-2011 12:58 PM

Racegirl .... cuz I am (:D) and 3 cuz ... well ...
1. I knew Junior wouldn't always have the 8
2. There already is someone else registered as racegirl
2. I couldnt do a 1 (at the time was Steve Park) or a 2 (at the time was Rusty Wallace) so 3 seemed the obvious choice .... associated with a legend and unlikely to ever be associated with another driver

'Cos when I got my Fountain I didn't know chit about boats. Still don't, total rookie :)

17 because it was my racing number for many years until I got smart enough to stop spending my own money on race cars and spend other people's money on them instead.

Now I have a boat thats almost as expensive to keep as my race cars and race bikes were.

Lol... some of us never learn. Maybe I'm just not very bright... :lolhit:

Too Stroked 01-09-2011 04:14 PM

When I bought my 22’ Progression with a Mercury outboard modified by Diamond Marine, I just couldn’t think of a proper name for it. Then one day somebody at the dock suggested that the motor was simply too big for the boat. (Never happen!) But, it got me thinking. Since it was a loud, snarly 2 stroke outboard, I put the two thoughts together and came up with the name on the boat – which became my screen name.

apache727 01-09-2011 04:21 PM

Apache came from the boat I owned when I joined OSO. 727 is the area code in Saint Petersburg FL.
