Ok everybody back to your corners.
Why does every thread lately turn into this ridiculous pissing match about Cig VS NT? For the record many Cig owners have moved over here. They've bought both cats and V's. Not bragging just stating facts. The cat purchase is obvious but why would they want our V over theirs? Because they are bigger, have more room and we put more features into them that some people actually want on their boats.. Cig does an awesome job on the fit and finish and have sold quite a few boats over the years. They are the defacto icon of classic high performance V bottoms. Of course a skinnier no frills lighter boat is going to be faster but we give you something different. Might not be your bag but thankfully it is for others. As for speed facts. 43V with all the options. Twin 700's 92-93 MPH 850's 102. Now can we get back to making fun of my average height? |

At the time of testing....my girlfriend was taking a shower in the (stand up head) with the ac on...my daughter was also in cabin taking a nap.... :drink:z |

I know a guy with a 43 triple 700 Nor-Tech with a bow thurster that runs right around 112. Its a much bigger boat than a 42X.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...er-57-a-2.html Personally I'm sick of it too. And as I've said before I would absolutely consider owning a NT; they are fine boats; as are Cig's and others; different boats for different folks. But I certainley wouldn't be "shocked" to see one brand choosen over another. |

This thread was much more fun when we were just busting on Terry, now all this winter anger is coming out. I would be proud to own either brand, even NT knew that Cig made great boats after all the old 380 was made from a 35 Cig mold.
It doesnt take a Rocket Surgeon to see how much bigger the NT's are than pretty much every other boat that's even close to the same length so sure it will be a little slower. Even a 46RR is small inside the cabin next to a 43 NT. How many of us buy the boat just for top speed? I don't want it to be 25 MPH slower with the same power but 5-10 could care less. I am always looking for my next boat and when it's time depending on how much I can spend if I can't get a NT I will look into TS Top Guns, for the money you cant beat them but I would not spend the same for a 38,39,42,45,or 46 Cig as I would for a 43,50, NT. I like the big cabin and if I have to do without that I will get the best boat I can get for the money and do without the big cabin and buy a Cig, That way I know I still have something thats going to last, ride great and I'll be a happy and proud owner. |

I find it funny that when I call out the Cig basher for his nonsense I'm being overly sensitive but when a NT is in question you're right there...and as for who cares? Apparently you "The 43 NT is the best riding boat I've ever been on and I've been on them all". Did you not also chime in when I posted my true story about the 43NT captain in KW 2007?...yes you did, in an attempt to discredit it. Glass houses my friend.
It would be more professional if both you and Jupiter take up somewhere else, quit sidetracking every NT thread.. Actually it would be fun to get both of you in the ring and duke it out, loser buys drinks for all of OSO:drink: |

Yeah, that was the example I used. If the NT guys saw half the ignorant comments he's always making in the Cig threads they might have a clue.

Great thread about a great guy who builds great boats!
How come no one posts like this about Skip and the boys from Opa-locka? Tommy still waiting for you to sleuth out OSO history and find a single Nortech owner that bought a new Cig......multiple requests not one case found.......hmmmmm. In all seriousness, Cig has a fantastic history, trademark, logo whatever and they build a nice boat. You guys take it way too seriously when someone thinks that this "iconic" brand could be improved with a few changes..... |
