Our last dog was a bully. She made it to almost 13 years. She couldn't handle the heat and obviously didn't swim. Family has a place on Norris Lake in TN. We'd take her out for cruises on the pontoon in the evening. I know the lab will be great when we're down there. Just leary about the Baja.

We are considering a rescue. A small lab from a shelter. She's already full grown and seems really laid back and gentle. However, we bought our Baja 342 at the end of last summer. We've never had a genset, air, all the goodies before. We plan to do a lot of all-nighters this summer on the river.

Does anyone boat with dogs?
Have a vet grind her nails or buy a grinder and DIY. Making them blunt will save your vinyl.

We tried the pedipaws thing from the infomercial on our Bully. Didn't work worth a damn. Not nearly strong enough. I have a Dremel

Downtown - how do you get your dog in and out of the boat when you're anchored up?

We take our center console over to a local sandbar / hangout spot all the time in the summer, and I would love to take my dog.

Problem is, she's a 180lb mastiff.

I'm sure I could get her in and out of the boat at the dock, but not sure about out on the water.

We have this on the back of the boat, works well in deep water.

Beth would grab him from the swim platform and I'd push his big hairy ass up and in from the water.

I think Shogren had fun cleaning his furballs up when he bought my boat !!!! hahahaha

I love my dogs, but they stay at the lake house when the boat goes out. I could deal with the shedding, but I'm too particular about the gel and vinyl. We share a ton of time with them in the water and on the dock, though.
