Be careful using an engine built for cars, cars dont have water reversion problems or issues with high idling.

A high idle in a boat with an outdrive = broken drive gears and blown clutches.

In a car you can run as much lift and duration as youd like to make X number appear on a dyno.

I have a a really nice 406 and if I had to do it all over again Id have just gone with an FI big block and been done with it.

I'm sorry but don't you have a car motor in your boat? I am sure these guy's have considered your aforementioned concerns.

Isn't that the LSA motor from the Caddy CTS-V that they are using?

Not sure if stroker is the way to go and probably shy away from LS for now but who knows. Carb and efi options for sure as well as all quality parts.
I have a pair of small blocks JC Performance just built for me. I was able to keep the fuel injection w aluminum heads should be on Zuls dyno this week. hoping for close to 500 hp

Yes, but its set up for a boat with careful cam & head & compression selection.

Ive watched a lot of guys try to slip in crate engines designed for cars and have trouble.

Notice bill mitchell who makes great products voids the warranty for marine use.....

And not cost $204,000.00 an engine or some other out of this world price!!!!!!! Sounds like a great weight to horsepower ratio !!
Hows that for a large crap ball that just got rolled ..

It's an OUTBOARD that looks just like a Mercury 300hp.
It's a V8 Supercharged built by Seven Marine

Here is a Facebook Link to Hering working with them on Props

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hering...s/146415149606

It is state of the art Outboard not some standard small block chevy....

If I knew how to copy and paste pictures on this site I would post a few but apparently I am too tired to figure it out. The Insert Image only offers "whats you pictrues URL". I thought there was a paper clip at one time?

Anyway, Here is the companies web site.

http://seven-marine.com/

I guess they are unveiling it at the Miami boat show.

yeesh- pretty sure thats about what my Ilmor & XR combo weighs.

This is no doubt a cool dealio...and not at all what I thought the poster was talking about (homebrew)

Its really nice to recover the room in the boat an I/O takes up - but thats a lot of weight and pressure on the transom, plus I have to wonder how that gearcase will last.

THIS is the last attempt at this I saw.

A far cry from the offering I see now.
