Default Best Single Engine Cat Design

I'm looking to purchase a single engine cat. I know their is a wealth of knowledge and experience on the board and would like to draw from it. My criteria for "best" would be safety (predictable ride at all speeds), quality of build, value, speed, and functionality (a reasonable day boating with family and friends). The first and only boat I've ever owned was a Checkmate 259 Convincor (for reference) and I loved it.
Thanks in advance for your opinions,
Rob

You've been in all those boats?? Yeah right.

Better questions:
Whats your price range?
What speeds are you trying to attain? Both cruising and top.
How old of a boat are you willing to go?

I think the first think people on here would need to know what your price range is because DCB and Eliminator are get boats but not cheap. There are also nice boats that are cheaper and depending on your budget may need to be a few years older. Good luck with your search and I'm sure you will love the ride and feel of a cat, I did

I have a 25 talon with a 525efi. I love the boat! It did have an 870 hp blower motor it ran 125 mph on GPS turning a 34 Spinelli.
