Tried some recovery software and got the same message. Did a little research and I think somehow the exif data was wiped. There are fixes, but they are time-consuming. Might be able to do it when I get Bruce's loaner and download from a Nikon camera. I just found about this unfortunate turn of events from an email from Bob. I can't think of anything helpful to say - it's all been said. You are welcome to my Canon, if it will do you any good, but it is just a consumer level body (10MP) with a couple of nice (waterproof, IS) lenses that aren't compatible with your Nikon stuff.
