New to boating world and OSO. Seems as though like any other club or sport, this is a very well known community. This post has already over 8300 views. The culprit will be out more than $7500 (need to out the guy). Respect and reputation are everything. Sorry about the trailer.

Are these D-Bags members here at OSO? Can they see that if they don't step up their future marine transactions are numbered? I hope they have other talents cause performance boating isn't going to work out with transactions like this. Some people are dumb or Stoned & some are Dumb & Stoned, thats what this seems like :) Friggin Spicolli

I remember borrowing a trailer one time and buying carpet in Miami to repair the bunks; and then there was the second time I "borrowed" one and three new tires and 2,400 miles later, I returned it. Nothing like Monteagle, TN on a Saturday night, in the rain, with no lug and wrench and...without a gun. I have my own trailer now.
I say paybacks are a muther...beyond that there's not much you can do besides rat the guy out here. |
This trailer-borrower-guy is acting like he started selling boats at Fort Apache !
Dont you worry Wild, your FAST BOAT(S) will still be fast without the COMonwealth of a trailer ! |

Wow.....I'd be kickin someone's door down.
I can do a drive-by tho :violent-smiley-045: |
I fully understand the reasoning for not outing them anytime soon. I too would have a tough time doing it.
Having said that, give us their fax number. It's been awhile since we've done a group fax bomb to get someone's attention. I believe the last time we did it the guilty party started communicating rather quickly. Fax number? :) Buck |
My brother used to have a lets just call it mass mailing program.... :D

Sounds like a Randy Sweers deal to me. Yes, I said it!

All of the custom PBB decals were removed from the trailer to add the "involved parties logos".
One Dexter torque axle 2 Semi trailer tires 3 Alcoa Wheels resurfaced Fenders and skirts need re-painted and pin stripped New Brake lines Several broken welds from hitting every curb from MO to FL The trailer was high centered and there are structural cracks on each side step. "involved party" completly removed all of the tilt bunks and altered them to fit his boat, they will have to be remade to fit MES 2 MTI's and Speedy. Storage compartments had hinges and locks drilled into place. Alot of paint work needs to be done........ You don't borrow something, screw it up, return it a month later then promised, and then give a "thanks". Where I come from, the guy would be walkin with a limp. |
What's interesting, and I havn't seen it brought up yet, is with all the damage to this trailer, how many claims of "hit and run" and potential damage liability might be floating out there. This guy had to hit something here and there... Maybe having the FB decals on it was a good thing. I would hate to be Wild and start getting calls because someone jotted down a tag number...etc.
|
I have a buddy that has an impound yard in Del. I've seen stuff that was stolen that didn't have that much damage. How in the hell did they structural break the trailer and how can they own a boat like that and not have a trailer for it?
|
The one thing, I passed him here in MO driving up HWY 67 towards HWY 55 around the time he would have been picking it up, I was wondering why their Freightliner sportclass was doing in MO with nothing in tow, if they did hit something it was obvious who's truck it was.
|
Wow... Yet another reason why you can't lend anyone your stuff. Sucks to hear that the guy won't own up to the damage he caused.
|
Wow.... note to self, never deal with fastboats.com
|
Wow. Wild was being pretty polite on his first post, not even coming close to disclosing all of the actual damage. Even after getting taken advantage of, he still attempted to handle it without bringing out the "A" team (or the OSO team I guess).
My son and I visited the Fastboats showroom in Florida in January. I could tell that it was a shrine to the owner right away, and he would not have alot of time for a couple of lowly guys from Iowa. I learned early and I have learned often to watch out for those with the most flash. Good luck with the resolve of this. I think that there are some guys on here that are all wound up right now from watching Cocaine Cowboys and maybe they would go on a little recon mission! |
The rust in the cracks...
Was the trailer was damaged on the way to FL, cracking the frame, and then launched in salt water, to see the rust like that? Or were those pics taken some time after trailer was returned, allowing enough time for even rain water to allow it to rust as shown. Has this trailer ever been dunked in salt previous to the loaning? |
Was Randy S. and Matt S. working on a trailer trade. Was it matt smiths kind heart helping out another competitor. I don't believe that.
I do believe the the trailer is a curb eater, just on the length alone. I also believe you guys were aware of that, I'm pretty sure you guys was going to shortend the trailer before the trade deal came about. The cracks on the frame does not come from high centering as suggested, that brand of trailer has had those issues for a while. It is metal fatique from all the flexing that brand has going down the hiway. When the axle came off, who's company or driver was pulling at the time and what damage happened when that came apart. I'm sure there is damage Randy S. needs to take care of, I am not buying the whole story. I think the real story is one high performance broker wanting to hurt another high performance broker. |
Awesome first post. Doesn't sound like you have an axe to grind at all. :gfight:

1st, Myself and MES had no idea this thread was started, second we are only posting so that the information is factual, not opinion.
There was a trade on the table to trade the in question silver tilt for the Ballistic tilt. We sold Ballistic and the tilt was not needed. Trade deal was off before our silver tilt left for MTI to head to KW, as a favor to the involved party. We allowed the involved party to use our trailer, at no cost, if our PBB logos and decals were left on our trailer for publicity. The first pictures posted of the KW race shows our decals were off and the involved party had their logos all over it. PBB is only upset because after our trailer was delivered to MTI, not PBB, the involved party did not take our phone calls for weeks, neither cell phone or at the office. The only way we reached this person was to call him from Big L's cell phone. No other consideration has been expressed. As for the cracks, they were not there before the KW race, it came back that way, it was at MTI, our driver picked it up and within minutes the axle fell off the trailer. Days later we were informed by Neil W. from MTI that the trailer had a vibration on the way back from FL and one tire had a flat spot so the spare was installed. The trailer has since been sitting on the lot at PBB, it has snowed, thus the exposed metal has surface rust. The trailer has never been dipped in salt to our knowledge. |

Did anyone notice that we have a 3 post guy calling out a first post guy.......man this thread is getting good. All kidding aside it seems pretty simple to me that the accused needs to pony up for a trailer. |

Assigning "blame" to the trailer is lame. Uncle Dave |
I know there must be other issues in this thread.... But if you brake it you fix it. period.....
|
The trailer left MTI a perfect "10" and got back to LOTO a "7"
That's it |
