Boating Rules!!!

1. The ONLY person that can invite or approve guys on the boat is ME and the people I have allowed to do so.

2. Guys MUST bring a MINIMUM of 1 girl. If it is your wife, you better think of a second one.

3. DO NOT bring anyone under 21 unless approved by me. I will be checking ID’s. If we get boarded by the cops I am responsible and I am not planning to go to jail because of your dumb ass brought girls right out of high school.

4. If you have been invited, do not invite your buddies on the boat. This includes people taking the water taxi that think they can just hang out on the boat because they know someone in it.

5. If anyone is bringing more people than we talked about when you were invited, please let me know to make sure there is room on the boat. This is not a cruise ship.

6. You need to bring whatever you are drinking. That includes mixers. Do not bring beer and then switch to someone’s liquor.

7. Be prepared to pitch in for gas when needed.

8. Tops are optional.

9. All girls must be under the maximum allowable weight requirements deemed by the Captain

10. Do not bring sloppy drunks that feel like they can just pass out in the boat and the music must be turned down because they need sleep!!!

If anyone breaks any of these rules, they will NOT come on the boat again. I’m sick of the bull****!!!

pokey27 03-22-2011 01:47 PM

Thats a goooood one need a sign like that to hang up:lolhit::drink:

Dangerous Dave 03-22-2011 11:32 PM

sounds like you had a typical florida spring break day on the water.

HTRDLNCN 03-22-2011 11:47 PM

you forgot:
if your wife/GF doesnt like going fast dont bring her on the friggin boat.. This isnt a pontoon boat ..

wjb21ndtown 03-23-2011 12:06 AM

The only rules I have is

1. Respect my boat

2. No shoes on my boat (goes hand in hand with rule #1, but ignorant people need to be told explicitly)

3. The Captain will drive as fast as he feels like. Cry and scream if you want. You will make it back to land and no one is forcing you back out.

That's it. Everything else takes care of itself.

If I want a boat full of women, I'll call them. Gas is the 2nd cheapest thing you'll buy for your boat, alcohol is the first. Beer, liquor and mixers are cheap and they're open game for the party, plenty will be there, but if you're a free-loader let me know before hand so I can bring more.

I'm glad boating isn't so stressful and rule laden for me. If it were I don't think I would do it. I go out on the water to get away from (most) rules, not adhere to a strict set of different ones.

I'd like to add a few:

NO SHOES; and if you are ever invited on a boat remove your shoes and it will greatly increase your chance of being invited again. (stated already in above quote)

Don't pack enough junk for a week. Space is limited.

No heavy drinking.

No clowning around while running fast and always hold on.

I have to disagree with this one. You should never drive faster than any one person is comfortable. Saying that, if the boat owner can't/won't respect the comfort levels of the people on board, those people should get out.

I would propose another rule to deal with that:

Don't accept a ride in a "go-fast" boat if you don't like to go fast or don't like loud engines.

waterboy222 03-23-2011 11:36 AM

#2 and #7 need work, but the rest I can agree with!

I always have bought my own fuel becuase of how "I" drive the boat.. The majority of the fun is running the sticks, so if someone else is paying for it, it doesnt seem fair that I burn it as fast as I do.. If you want to throw $100 in the tank, you're more than welcome to do so but its not expected at all..

With that being said, I'd prefer they pick up the drinks, ice, snacks, lunch, etc. instead.. And if someones wife is comin and NOT bringing hot single friends, they better be packin some sammiches!

edit: oh, and no smoking, I get plenty of it from my outboards.. bleh!

I guess that depends on what "go fast" means to the person.

Example: If I am out in the water and my wife isn't comfortable going 80 with conditions however they are, I am going to slow down. The same if its one of my buds, I may give him $hit later though. If my wife brings a friend boating and she gets uncomfortable going anywhere over 60, I can respect that. If she can't handle anything over 35, than we will have a problem.

Wally 03-23-2011 01:01 PM

Gas money is always welcome but not expected. I would be out there with or without them so i would be paying for the gas anyway.

And at the end of the day i always have all onboard pitch in and wipe the boat down when it gets pulled out. I have spray bottles with dilute simple green and towels to wipe down with. :)

Well I am not married so don't have to deal with a wife. I sea (sic) your point there. I let everyone know ahead of time that I will be driving as fast as conditions allow and that I have many years of boat driving experience and that there WILL be some air time involved and that this isn't your granddaddy's boat. I figure that a day on the big water is costing me at least several hundred dollars and if you can't handle going fast or if you have some physical problem that limits your ability to be bounced around that you should decline the invitation. I will stand fast on that rule!

I also expect nothing from my guests. No gas; No work. If someone brings beverages or pays for my lunch at a stop that is appreciated but not expected either. I only ask for good company and for you to take off your f*cking shoes! :)

It's amazing that there are dudes who would think it's cool to invite some random guy, or any "unauthorized" males! It's not a passenger ferry, barely fits anyone to start w/ and I'm not cramming some dudes on. Chicks we'll squeeze for.

Sheer Insanity 03-23-2011 07:42 PM

I do all the inviting and make rules as they board. If someone does not like or follow my rules on my boat they and get off at the nearest accessable place. Sorry, but you are a guest on my boat respect it or find a way home.

One time I caught a girl putting her corona against my rear seat grab bar and hitting the top to open it.... Did Not go well for her and cost me $80+ my time and travel to repair and powder coat it.

That brings 2 more rules to mind.

No high heels on the deck.

Only guys can stick their faces in the boobs.

I'm down with the first one, but the second one? Generally a girl in another girls boobs is just the warm up for later. :evilb:

Bad wording. I ran it past my attorney ;). How about:

If a girl can stick her face in another girl's boobs then those boobs are fair game for the guys too.

Sounds like a good rule in theory, but it's NOT what I normally see. I'd say the majority of boats I see either have a 1:1 ratio or more guys than girls.

pullmytrigger 03-24-2011 10:53 AM

No sausage fests!.....Susi hates being the only girl.
I dont mind someone grabbing a beer or a drink off me if they run out, no problem help yourself.....but if they come out with NOTHING to drink and have NO money thats something different....like WTF.....and that goes for chicks too.....playing the pu$$y card isnt going to work....I already have mine.
I'll first timers slide no problem but I tire of repeat offenders.

I appreciate money for gas.....lots of times if we just head out to the sandbar I refuse but its really more the offer than the amount.

Unless you have a Capt's license its illegal to charge your passengers for fuel.

technically its asking for generous donations :drink:

low_psi 03-24-2011 12:22 PM

I don't enforce the no shoe policy on my boats... Hell, I am one of the sissys that has to wear water shoes becasue I don't want my lilly white feet touching sand or muck. So it would be hypicritical at best to tell everyone else to not wear shoes. But most people bare foot it anyway cause they aren't as much of a sissy as me..... Non-marking shoes are the only real rule.......

That and no getting drunk and punching the captin in the eye....... That kind of $hit WILL get you thrown overboard in the middle of the lake!! Likes to fight guy is no longer allowed aboard my boat or within 50 feet of it.

They are, however, able to pay their share of the fuel expenses. I will gladly accept a few bucks for gas, but I never expect it. It's more the gesture that counts. Pretty sure the "fair share" of the fuel is usually significantly more than the $20 or so most guests pitch in anyway.

the laws regarding that are very similar commercial and private pilot regulations

it is against regs to charge but is entirely acceptable to share expenses with passengers
