Yes, I brought the boat down to Ft Lauderdale pretty much every year from 1980 on. Then I figured it would be easier to just move down here permanently in 1995 lol.

God me and my Buddy had a ball there in 85 and we both turned 21 We stayed at my parents in Naples for 2 months and during the month of Spring Break we went over to Lauderdale and stayed the weekend in our van parked right on the strip on the beach
It was unreal something right out of a movie we had soo much fun.
The van we had redone the inside before we left Michigan and added two 400 watt Blaupuknt amps and a Blaupuknt head unit . Than we took my buddies Aunts speakers that I think were Crutchfield home speakers and mounted them to the back doors. the speakers weighed a 100lbs each and were 4 feet tall and each one had about 6 speakers in it kind like a Bose .
This was long before people were making really big systems in cars and the Speakers we had would make some really nice clean bass , frikin hurt your chest kind.
We would park the van facing the beach on the strip and open the back doors facing the street and crank the music and with in 20 minutes we had a crowd surrounding us . We were the party men..
Cops would come buy and warn us to turn down the music and we would until they were out of site.than cranked back up/. Had to leave the van running the whole time with 2 batteries charging just top keep up with the amps.Went thru a alternator a week for a while until we bought a heavy duty one.
Last weekend we were there that year the cops had had enough of the music but it wasn't so much the music as the giant party that formed around it.
Anyways we played our little game with them and they finally said we had one choice leave or get impounded.
Went back the following year and they had redid the strip so you couldn't park on it by the beach . The glory days were over.
I thought I had a pic of the van and my boat that year but the only pic i found was the boat with my younger brother in it 'That was another thing he was only 16 and we were letting him go over there with us and drink and chit . Kid had the time of his life.

Man if we had cell phones back than could have been dangerous.
It seems like 90 percent of the girls back than were at least a 8 or better.and the cops were barely existent for the crowd of people and the drinking and toking that was going on.
Now days they would have called in the Army Reserve and teargas a crowd like that.
