There is no bubble to burst b/c i know there are faster singles out there. I never claimed to be the fastest single (geez i dont even have my engine in yet). Just putting feelers out there for what people have in the area. And im not gonna race a boat that i know goes 110, im just looking for a little friendly FAIR competition.

Be safe keep your tabs down a bit use as much hull as possible small boats can get crazy with big power!:party-smiley-004:

Whats up OSO, I picked up a clean 27' Fountain single, no step bottom, in the fall of last year. I am currently having a fresh custom 510ci N.A.[/COLOR] motor being built at Bandit Performance Marine (Formerly Kurt's Marine) on Mantoloking Rd. in Brick, NJ. I cant say enough times how helpful, friendly and informative they have been. Not sure of the H.P. until im on the dyno but im crossing my fingers for 90MPH. Im thinking i may have one of the faster singles in the area. Looking for a quick race just for fun or a small wager. I will accept fair twin engine competition also. Im usually hanging out at F-Cove, or blasting around the bay in between the Seaside and Mantoloking bridges. Thanks guys, The Instagator.

I'm thinking you might be a tad optimistic :D

y? dont think it will go 90? it was a 75 mph boat with a little under 500hp. another 200hp wont get it there?

I'm questioning the HP

700hp is a lot to get out of a N/A 510. Let's hear more about your motor :drink:

The question is not if it will go that fast, but whether how fast it will go safely. Remember, a 27' Fountain is essentially a 25' boat. (The beak doesn't gain you running surface.) I've driven enough 27' Fountains (and other boats) to know what a handfull they can be. One of our members from my area was killed last year when his 29' Kryptonite went out of control during testing. That's one of the reasons those of us with lots of seat time are cautioning you here. It doesn't matter if you run 120 MPH - for 5 seconds before you loose control and crash.

A 25 ft boat? the 27 fountain has 23 ft of running surface.
