I just purchased one and it works great but..
Even though I believed I was purchasing a "marine" unit and even though it is spark protected, it has vents which may allow water intrusion and subsequent damage if mounted in the engine bay. It is not sealed like I expected it to be.

I’ve had mine for about 15yrs and it still works great today. It is the single version, although, I’ve used it on my dual battery set up and it works fine. It will definitely extend your battery life while they are sitting.
In regards to BajaDan I don’t believe these are meant to be mounted inside the engine compartment, unless of course the new modes are made for this.
