Yes and a 2004 design not a 2010 as with the Hustler so you cant really compare and the 39 is no longer in production. A 41SL ran 114 with 700's and is a bigger boat. SV43 low 120's with 725 Ilmors. Have always liked Joe and Hustler. He's always loved the diesels!! Good job Hustler and Mercury.

Dont forget the quad diesel SV52 Outerlimits ran 114mph. We also have a triple 52SL in construction that will run 90+ no problem when completed.

Wildman,

No we are not using a 2 speed tranny, as the drive gear ratio is almost one to one.

excellent...Id like to see what the 480 Cummins or Yanmar with a set of asd-8's would do on a 44 as a starting point. Mid 80's would be exceptable to me..but like all diesels, it's the last few mph getting to that top end number that takes to long for me...so 90+ is the way to go... Im curious how long this boat takes to get on plane..it looks awesome, actually best looking proportioned of all the 37-39' boats out there. Nice long deep engine compartment, great for staggered motors, good sunpad length, not cramped in the cockpit and enough headroom in the cabin to be acceptable for 6'+ guys.. Good package all the way around..and its similiar to te 41 OL..just no bustle. I just like that there is another alternative other than gas..diesel has always peaked my interest...but then again... so has the turbo motors from Tommy and Mercruiser.. Jeff
